Billy Ray Cyrus Featured In Hallmark Christmas Movie

Billy Ray Cyrus' latest acting project airs this weekend. He stars in the Hallmark Channel's new made-for-TV holiday movie "Christmas in Canaan." The singer plays the part of widower Daniel Burton, a Texas farmer who's struggling to provide for his family as he raises his children alone. Kenny Rogers co-wrote the screenplay for "Christmas in Canaan," and Cyrus also has a lot of appreciation for him. He gives Rogers partial credit for his acting career, noting he began pursuing TV and film roles after his dad advised him to develop a career, quote, "like Kenny Rogers." "Christmas in Canaan" will have its premiere on the Hallmark Channel Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
