Zac Brown Band, Jimmy Buffett Team Up For "Crossroads" Taping

The Zac Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett brought a bit of Caribbean warmth to a cold Nashville night with their "CMT Crossroads" taping Wednesday. The series pairs artists from different musical genres to find their common ground, and the connection between Brown and Buffett was immediately evident. They began with the Zac Brown Band's "Toes," which addresses topics familiar to most Buffett fans -- cold beer, warm sand, and senoritas -- and Buffett's Coral Reefer Band made it their own by adding steel drums. Buffett said he'd recently seen the Zac Brown Band in concert and identified with the experience, explaining, quote, "I remember going through the exact same thing more than 25 years ago."

Meanwhile, Brown and company effortlessly joined in on some of Buffett's hits, and they really got the crowd going with their collaborative rendition of the classic "Margaritaville." Brown quipped, quote, "This is the first time I've sung Jimmy Buffett songs when there wasn't a tip jar present."
