Jamey Johnson is seeing huge returns from his appearance at last week's 43rd annual Country Music Association Awards. The singer-songwriter, who captured the Song of the Year title for his hit "In Color," teamed up with Kid Rock to perform "Between Jennings & Jones" during the ABC broadcast. The track, from Johnson's breakthrough CD "That Lonesome Song," was never released as a single but seems to be attracting new fans. Johnson's album saw a 286-percent increase in sales following the CMAs -- the biggest sales boost for the stars who appeared at the ceremony. In addition, digital sales for both "Between Jennings & Jones" and "In Color" rose significantly over the past week. Johnson says he appreciates the recognition, noting, quote, "it's really cool that people responded to our CMA performance by going out and laying their hard earned money down. I've swung a hammer for seven bucks an hour so I appreciate every single person who supports country music."Fans can catch Johnson in concert this fall. He's featured on the CMT On Tour 2009 with Randy Houser. They'll be performing in Mobile, Alabama tonight.
