Carrie Underwood To Help Salute "CNN Heroes"

Carrie Underwood is set to help honor those who make a difference. The singer is among the celebrities tapped to participate in CNN's upcoming salute "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute." The event recognizes ordinary people who are doing extraordinary things to help others. Underwood will join Maxwell and Leona Lewis in performing at the ceremony, while Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, George Lopez, and Dwayne Johnson are some of the scheduled presenters. Eva Mendes, Neil Patrick Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Randy Jackson, Greg Kinnear, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are also expected to appear. CNN's Anderson Cooper will host "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute." The event will take place at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles and air on CNN Thanksgiving night.

"CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" will feature the Top Ten CNN Heroes of 2009 and their inspirational stories. Each hero will receive a 25-thousand-dollar prize, while the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year -- who will be announced during the event -- will also get an extra 100-thousand-dollar prize.
