Man Jumps Off Cliff To Escape Police

(Pittsburgh, PA) -- A Pennsylvania man is recovering after jumping off a cliff to get away from police. Officials in Pittsburgh say Michael Smedley was wanted on several outstanding warrants when he was spotted the night before last. A short chased was next before the 32-year-old jumped out of a moving vehicle and started running away. However, his last ditch effort to get away was literally a jump off of a 25-foot cliff. That was the end of his freedom as police caught him not long after his plunge. Smedley was a bit scratch up on his face but otherwise alright. He was treated at a hospital but is now behind bars. Police say his outstanding warrants were for drug offenses and another incident of trying to get away from police.
