"Country Strong" Song Among Oscar Nominees, Paltrow To Perform

A "Country Strong" song is among the nominees at this weekend's Academy Awards ceremony. "Coming Home," a Tom Douglas, Troy Verges and Hillary Lindsey track which Gwyneth Paltrow sings, is in the running for Best Original Song. It's up against "I See the Light" from "Tangled," "If I Rise" from "127 Hours," and "We Belong Together" from "Toy Story 3." Gwyneth will be on hand for the event. She's scheduled to take the stage to sing "Coming Home" in a performance segment highlighting the four nominated tracks. The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will be presented at a star-studded ceremony in Hollywood, airing on ABC Sunday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

"Coming Home" was also among the hopefuls for Best Original Song at last month's Golden Globe Awards, but didn't get the nod. The honor went to Diane Warren's "You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me," which Cher sings in the film "Burlesque."
