Billboard Music Awards To Air Live On ABC

The 2011 Billboard Music Awards are heading to network TV. The ceremony will air live on ABC from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 22nd. Richard Beckman, CEO of Prometheus Global Media, says this year's award show is the first of many "broadcast platforms" they plan on building around the "Billboard franchise." He adds, quote, "We look forward to entertaining music fans with Billboard's own rendition of a televised celebration of music." The Billboard Music Awards will reflect Billboard's chart rankings, which include album, digital and single sales, as well as touring and social media interactions. Artists from genres like Country, R&B, Rap, Pop, Rock, Latin and Alternative will be honored at this year's ceremony.
