Welcome Sign Stolen

(Portland, ME) -- It's not clear why someone would want to steal a sign in Maine that says "Welcome to Portland." The large sign was five-feet by eight-feet stood at Fore River Parkway and West Commercial Street until recently. Somebody made off with the 100 pound object, that was carved out of a single piece of wood and hand painted with gold leaf paint. Police continue searching for the 35-hundred-dollar sign.
