Johnny Cash is officially becoming a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. The late country legend has been tapped for induction as a member of the Gospel Hall's Class of 2011, along with DeGarmo & Key, the Golden Gate Quartet, and the late radio personality Bill "Hoss" Allen. Trace Adkins is on board to help with the celebration, and will perform at the event in Cash's honor. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, which was established in 1971. The Gospel Music Association will host its annual induction ceremony in Hendersonville, Tennessee Monday night.
Cash's induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame puts him in elite company. He joins Elvis Presley as the only artists to be inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame. Cash was added to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1980, and he's a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 1992. Cash has also been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Hit Parade Hall of Fame.
