"Country Strong" Track Earns Oscar Nomination

A "Country Strong" song is up for an Oscar. "Coming Home," a Tom Douglas, Troy Verges and Hillary Lindsey track which Gwyneth Paltrow sings, is among the nominees for Best Original Song at the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony. The song's competition in the category includes "I See the Light" from "Tangled," "If I Rise" from "127 Hours," and "We Belong Together" from "Toy Story 3." "Coming Home" was also among the hopefuls for Best Original Song earlier this month at the Golden Globe Awards, but lost to Diane Warren's "You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me," which Cher sings in the film "Burlesque." The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will be presented at a star-studded ceremony in Hollywood next month. The event will take place on February 27th, airing on ABC at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

Fans have been embracing the "Country Strong" soundtrack. The album is topping the Billboard Soundtracks chart and is perched at number two on the Country Albums list. In addition, it's at number six on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart as well as the Digital Albums chart.
