Shania Twain is moving on -- with the ex-husband of the woman who allegedly helped break up her marriage. Reps for the singer confirm to "Us Weekly" that the country star is engaged to Frederic Thiebaud. Thiebaud's former wife, Marie-Anne, had been Shania's best friend when the singer and her now ex-husband, producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, lived in Switzerland. Twain left Lange in the spring of 2008 amid allegations that he was having an affair with Marie-Anne. Both Mutt and Marie-Anne denied the claims, but both of their marriages still came to an abrupt end. Shania and Frederic turned to each other for support, which turned into a romance.
According to "Us Weekly," Frederic, who's an executive with Nestle, proposed a couple of months ago in Switzerland. Last week the couple was seen in New York City, with Twain sporting what the magazine describes as "an enormous engagement ring." An unnamed friend tells "Us," quote, "I've never seen Shania so happy." The friend adds, quote, "She has ended up with the love of her life."
