Python Makes Surprise Appearance

(Walla Walla, WA) -- A surprise visit by a python in Walla Walla, Washington has animal control officials investigating. The reptile made the surprise appearance last week when it crawled onto the porch of a local residence. Sara Archer with the Blue Mountain Humane Society says the two-foot-long python was caught in a pillow case by the homeowners and is being kept safe until the owner can be located. The ball python coils into a ball when it's experiencing stress, or cold -- both of which the reptile apparently felt when it was being contained at the residence. Archer says the snake has since opened up after feeling the warmth of a space heater in the home.
