Mechanic Shrinks Car To Fit In Motorhome
A retired mechanic in New Zealand has downsized his ride. According to the U.K.'s "Orange" news, Lester Atherfold shrunk his Mini so that it now fits in the hold of his motorhome. The 67-year-old narrowed the chassis and added a new transmission, sub-frame, clutch and dashboard, leaving him with a car that is slightly longer than seven feet. Atherfold says the tiny vehicle is a great asset when on vacation, explaining, quote, "It gives us total freedom from the motorhome when we are away on holiday." He adds, quote, "We can see and do things that would otherwise be impossible. What other car would fit under your bed?"
