Johnny Cash Auction Begins Today

Johnny Cash memorabilia is hitting the block. Julien's Auctions is handling the sale, which includes material spanning the late country legend's professional and personal life. Guitars and handwritten lyrics as well as on and off stage clothes are among the many mementos going up for bid. Some of the big ticket items include the blue jumpsuit Cash wore during his rehearsal for his famed San Quentin prison concert, which is expected to fetch between three-and-five-thousand-dollars, while his iconic "Man in Black" cape is estimated to be worth two-to-three-thousand-dollars. Cash's costume from the movie "A Gunfight" and other film memorabilia will also be sold, along with his artwork, his Bible studies work, letters from former presidents and celebrity friends such as Kris Kristofferson and Bruce Springsteen, and other less public possessions. The live auction will take place at Julien's in Beverly Hills, in four sessions over three days starting Friday and wrapping up Sunday.
