Jake Owen Proud Of Successful Hometown Charity Event

Jake Owen says he's proud he's able to support his hometown. Earlier this month the singer teamed up with tennis pro Mardy Fish for their fifth annual "Mardy's Tennis & Jake's Music Fest" fundraiser in Vero Beach, Florida. Owen notes, quote, "Every year I'm reminded how privileged I am to have been raised in this wonderful and charitable community. It is such an honor to be a part of giving back to the children of Vero Beach." He adds, "A special thanks goes out to everyone who helped make this year's event so incredible -- including my friends Little Big Town and Mardy! We're already looking forward to next year and making plans to grow this event!"

The two-day event included a kids' tennis clinic and a concert featuring Owen and Little Big Town. Last week Owen made a 30-thousand-dollar donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and a 33-thousand-dollar contribution to the Mardy Fish Foundation, which supports sports and music after-school programs at the local county schools.
