Gretchen Wilson is once again showing her support for education. The singer is slated to play a fundraising concert for her daughter's school. The country star's nine-year-old, Grace, is a student at McClain Christian Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee. Wilson is expected to perform a variety of holiday songs at the show, which is being billed the "Gretchen Wilson & Friends Christmas Concert." Nashville's "Tennessean" notes her set will include her seasonal song, "I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas," which she recorded with Grace and some of her friends. The concert will take place at McClain Christian Academy tonight.
Wilson has become an outspoken supporter for education in recent years. The former drop-out earned her GED in 2008. She's said Grace motivated to pass her high school equivalency exam because she wanted to set a good example, and be able to help her daughter with her schoolwork throughout the course of her education.
