Robbery Suspect Attempts To Flee On Riding Lawn Mower

A riding lawn mower made for a poor getaway vehicle for one South Carolina man. The "Aiken Standard" is reporting that Ricky New was arrested last week after he allegedly robbed a convenience store. The 45-year-old is accused of walking into Kent's Korner and striking a clerk with a stick. New then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store on a riding lawn mower. Aiken police were able to locate New a short time later and take him into custody. New is now facing charges of first-degree assault and battery, and armed robbery.
