Jerrod Niemann Excited, Honored, Thankful For CMA Nomination
Jerrod Niemann says he appreciates getting noticed by the Country Music Association with a nomination for this fall's event. The singer, who finally had his breakthrough with the chart-topping hit "Lover, Lover" after struggling for ten years, notes he never expected such attention. He calls the nomination "an unbelievable feeling," explaining, quote, "I got started as a songwriter, so I've been in the trenches a long time, and so for everybody to recognize that and give you a pat on the back and say thank you for hangin' in there -- although you had your puppies ran over a couple times -- it's a huge honor, and I'm very excited and thankful." Niemann joins Luke Bryan, Corbin Easton, Chris Young, and the Zac Brown Band in vying for New Artist of the Year honors. The 44th annual CMA Awards will be presented in a ceremony in Nashville and air on ABC November 10th.
