Chris Young Excited, Proud Of CMA Award Nomination

Chris Young says he's excited to be in the running for a Country Music Association Award. The singer learned right away that he was among the hopefuls in the upcoming event, since he participated in Tuesday's press conference to reveal some of the categories for the 44th annual CMA Awards. Young says the nomination means a lot to him, noting that he's watched the ceremony as a fan for years. Young adds that he's proud of his CMA nomination. He explains that it not only reflects his accomplishments, but that it's also a testament to the efforts of those who have worked with him and helped him take his career to where it is today. Young is vying for New Artist of the Year, facing Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, Jerrod Niemann, and the Zac Brown Band for the honor. The 44th annual CMA Awards will be presented in a ceremony in Nashville and air on ABC November 10th.
