GPS Tracking School Children
(Chicago, IL) -- A school district in a southwest suburb of Chicago has a new way of keeping an eye on students as they head to and from school. NBC Chicago reports the Palos Heights School District is using GPS devices to keep track of school bus kids. The report says the school district had been using a GPS system on the buses and now, it is outfitting students' backpacks with a small GPS unit which keeps an eye on students when they get on and off school buses.
