Overdue Child Support Threatens Doctor's Medical License

(Lakeland, FL) -- The medical license of a prominent cancer doctor in Florida could by pulled because he hasn't paid more than half-a-million dollars in child support. According to the "Lakeland Ledger," Doctor Randy Heysek owes his ex-wife 673-thousand dollars, and has been receiving threatening letters from the state's Department of Revenue for more than a year. The state failed to get Heysek's driver's license suspended but could go after the medical license of the 51-year-old radiation oncologist. Heysek divorced his wife of 20 years late in 2008 and since January of '09 he hasn't paid her 35-thousand dollars a month in alimony and support for their four sons, including 15-year-old triplets. A judge will hold a hearing about suspending the doctor's medical license next month.
