Boyfriend Loses Engagement Ring While Proposing

What would normally be a romantic moment turned into an expensive mistake for one Massachusetts couple. WBZTV.com reports that Matt Cawley recently lost a nine-thousand dollar engagement ring while proposing to his girlfriend, Stacey Scanlon. Cawley had planned to surprise Scanlon with the ring -- which was a family heirloom -- during a walk Monday morning in South Yarmouth. He tied the ring to a sand dollar and then placed it on a rock when Scanlon wasn't looking. Unfortunately, when Scanlon grabbed the sand dollar the ring fell between the rocks. The couple, along with several other people at the beach, searched for the ring for four hours, but were unable to find it. Despite the mistake, Stacey Scanlon agreed to wed Matt Cawley. The news got even better when Cawley learned that his mother had insured the ring last Friday.
