Tammy Wynette Memorabilia Arrives At Country Music Hall Of Fame

A collection of Tammy Wynette memorabilia is now at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The set includes 14 stage costumes; her GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM awards; and framed letters from dignitaries including former Presidents Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, and George H. Bush. Museum Director Kyle Young says he's thrilled to receive the material, noting, quote, "Like Kitty Wells, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, Tammy's songs articulated a woman's perspective rarely found in country music at the time." He adds, quote, "These relics and accoutrements of her career are important touchstones worthy of study and interpretation, and that's why we are so grateful to see them arrive here." The Wynette memorabilia made their way to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum last week. Young says he expects to have many of the Wynette items on display before the year is over.
