"Shutter Island" Continues Its Run On Top Of The Box Office
The thriller "Shutter Island" continues its run as the top movie in North America. For the second straight week, the Martin Scorsese-directed film held onto its position at number one, earning 22-point-two-million dollars. In second, was the debut of the action-comedy "Cop Out," starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, with 18-point-six million dollars. A remake of the 1973 horror movie "The Crazies" earned 16-point-five million dollars, putting it at number three. Distributors had expected both of those debuts to pull in up to around 15-million dollars. In fourth for the weekend with a take of 14-million dollars was James Cameron's "Avatar," followed by "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief" in fifth with nine-point-eight-million dollars.
Here are the top ten draws at the North American box office for the three-day weekend beginning February 26:

9. Tooth Fairy - three-point-five-million dollars
