Canadian Stars Shine At Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony

Neil Young, Michael Buble, William Shatner, and Michael J. Fox are among the famous Canadians who helped bring an end to the Winter Olympics. Young participated in the Closing Ceremony, turning in a solo performance of his 1976 hit "Long May You Run" as the Olympic flame was extinguished. And once the games were officially over, more stars came out to celebrate their homeland. Highlights included monologues from Canadian actors William Shatner, Catherine O'Hara, and Michael J. Fox, while Michael Buble led the "Made In Canada Parade." The evening also featured a performance by opera singer Ben Heppner, who sang the Olympic anthem, as well as special salutes to the athletes and a spectacle showcasing Sochi [[So-CHEE]], Russia, which will host the Winter Olympics in 2014.

The 2010 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony aired live from Vancouver, British Columbia on NBC. After the official Closing Ceremony, the network presented the premiere of Jerry Seinfeld's new show, "The Marriage Ref." Coverage of the Olympic festivities resumed afterwards, with more performances from Canadian stars including Nickelback and Avril Lavigne on the "2010 Olympic Winter Games Closing Party Show."
