"New Moon" Fans Celebrate Home Video Release Over Weekend

Fans of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" are still abuzz over the film's DVD and Blu-Ray Disc releases over the weekend. EntertainmentWeekly.com reports that people in New York lined the streets on Friday for "New Moon's" debut in Saturday's wee hours. Peter Facinelli -- who plays Carlisle in the film franchise -- was on hand for a release party at a fan-packed Manhattan Best Buy. Regarding Carlisle, Facinelli said, quote, "I always looked at him as a proper gentleman. I felt like Carlisle's voice should be a little bit more velvety, lower-register." The New York Best Buy reportedly drew over one-thousand "Twi-fans." Similar release celebrations took place throughout the country.

Summit Entertainment released "New Moon" on Saturday -- departing from the industry's typical Tuesday release date schedule. A two-disc Special Edition DVD features filmmaker commentary; rehearsal footage featuring Muse, who contributes to the movie's soundtrack; a six-part making-of documentary; and more. Originally released in theaters in November 2009, "New Moon" stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson.
