Florida Man Irate Over Alleged Snack Cake Theft

An 80-year-old man in St. Lucie, Florida is facing a criminal mischief charge after an outburst involving snack cakes. TCPalm.com reports that Gene Edward Chambers was arrested last Sunday after allegedly damaging his neighbors' door. Chambers was seeking out his neighbors to accuse them of entering his home and stealing seven boxes of Little Debbie Oatmeal Cookies. A police report filed in connection with the incident stated, quote, "He went to the residence and knocked on the door. When they didn't answer, he started hitting the door with the garden hoe." A deputy on the scene did investigate Chambers' residence, locating five boxes of the snack cakes and a receipt confirming the purchase. The police report continued, quote, "Chambers was mistaken in thinking he had bought seven boxes."
