University Of Texas Institutes Undergrad Limit

An institution of higher learning is attempting to put limits on how long students can take to get their degrees. ABCNews.com reports that The University of Texas is working on a regulation that would limit undergrads to ten terms. This would potentially eliminate the so-called "Van Wilder" effect whereby undergrads linger on campus for years in pursuit of a degree. Isabella Cunningham is the chairwoman of the task force behind the proposed rule. Cunningham said of UT's efforts, quote, "The intent is not get out any student. [It's] to provide the right kind of environment to have a successful career at the University of Texas."
