Trace Adkins Honored At CRS 41

Trace Adkins is an honoree at this year's Country Radio Seminar. CountryWeekly.com says the singer received the Country Radio Broadcasters' Artist Humanitarian award at an event Wednesday. He was recognized for his efforts in supporting the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, the Animal Rescue Foundation, and various military and veterans organizations. In accepting the trophy, which last year's recipient Randy Owen presented, Adkins joked that he was worthy of the award, quote, "simply because I've never killed anybody." But then he turned serious and noted, quote, "I do what I can. It's minuscule, it seems sometimes. I just try to help folks out where we see needs and we do what we can, and I don't feel deserving of this. I'm humbled by it, and honored and grateful."

Other stars taking part in CRS 41 events Wednesday included Vince Gill, Sugarland, and Lee Ann Womack, who entertained at the CRS 2010 luncheon along with Gary Allan, Billy Currington, Julianne Hough, and Jamey Johnson. In addition, Josh Turner, David Nail, and the Randy Rogers Band also performed. Today, Tom T. Hall will be teaming up Easton Corbin and noted songwriter Wynn Varble for the CRS Live show, taking place at the Nashville Convention Center. The 2010 Country Radio Seminar continues through Friday.
