Mascot Sued For Throwing Hot Dog At Fan

The mascot of the Kansas City Royals is the subject of a lawsuit. John Coomer is suing the Royals for 25-thousand dollars claiming that the mascot, Sluggerrr, threw a hot dog that hit him in the eye during a hot dog throwing promotion at Kauffman Stadium during a game last year. According to legal documents, Coomer suffered a detached retina, developed cataracts in his left eye, and suffered permanent vision loss despite two surgeries. The suit claims that Sluggerrr intentionally threw the hot dog that hit Coomer, and that the organization did not correctly train and supervise its employees in how to properly throw a hot dog.
