Alan Jackson Announces "Freight Train Tour"

Alan Jackson will be hitting the road this spring. The country star has 15 shows booked throughout April and May, starting in Fort Myers, Florida on April 8th. He's touring in support of his new album, "Freight Train," which is due in stores next month. Jackson says the title track, quote, "sounded different and just kind of stuck out," and sees it as a metaphor for his career. He explains, quote, "I guess when you really think about it, man, we've been rolling along here for a lot of years, just going like a freight train." Jackson has tapped Josh Turner and Chris Young to join him as openers on the trek. "Freight Train" includes Jackson's latest single, "It's Just That Way."

In addition to the tour, Jackson has a few TV appearances booked in conjunction with the release. On March 30th -- the day "Freight Train" hits stores -- Jackson will visit both NBC's "Today" and CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman." In addition, he'll be on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on April 14th, and make his first appearance on the syndicated "Ellen DeGeneres Show" on April 15th.
