Affleck Attached To Film About 1970s Baseball Scandal

Ben Affleck is reportedly attached to an upcoming film about one of baseball's biggest scandals. Deadline.com reports that Warner Brothers has tapped Affleck to direct -- and to potentially star in -- "The Trade." The film will center around a real-life scandal surrounding two 1970s-era New York Yankees who swapped wives. Pitchers Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich shocked the nation when they announced in 1973 that they planned to "trade" their spouses, citing love. While Kekich and Peterson's ex Marilyn are no longer together, Peterson and Kekich's ex Susanne remain a couple to this day.

Affleck, Matt Damon and their former Live Planet producing partner Sean Bailey have reportedly expressed interest in the film for some time, with Affleck and Damon potentially playing the spouse-trading Yankees.
