Remembering Elvis Presley's 75th Birthday

Elvis Presley fans around the world are marking what would have been the King of Rock and Roll's 75th birthday. The pioneering rock legend was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8th, 1935, the surviving twin and only child for Vernon and Gladys Presley. In July 1954, the 19-year-old recorded and released his debut single, "That's All Right." That song launched Elvis' career as well as a musical revolution, and as he skyrocketed to unprecedented fame he transformed pop culture in America and around the world. Over the course of his 23-year career, Presley captured the spirit of his generation, the imagination of his fans, and the attention of the media. A number of tributes are being held today in honor of Presley's birth anniversary.
