Beer-Can Alarm Alerts Man To Intruder

A collection of beer cans helped keep one North Dakota man safe last week. According to KFGO.com, a Fargo resident's beer-can alarm alerted him to an intruder last Wednesday. Police Sargent Bill Ahlfeldt says the man, quote, "Placed a stepstool with empty beer cans in front of his door and was alerted when the beer cans and stepstool were knocked over by the individual entering the apartment." The man awoke to discover 61-year-old Danny Gable in his closet. The two men began to fight, at which point neighbors called 911. Gable was arrested for the break in, while both men were treated for minor injuries.
