New Poll Looks Into Re-Gifting By Americans
Some say it's in poor taste, but over a fifth of the U.S. population believes in the act of "re-gifting" holiday presents. A new Marist Poll discovered 23 percent of respondents say they have no problem giving a gift that they've received to someone else. Age appears to have something to do with the art of "re-gifting." The poll found younger Americans are more likely to re-gift holiday presents. Thirty-six-percent of respondents 18 to 29 years old call themselves "re-gifters," compared to 27 percent of those age 30 to 44, and 17 percent of those 60 years old and older. Of those polled, 27 percent of people say wine is the item they'd most likely "re-gift," with fruitcake taking second place at 22 percent and candles coming in third with 18 percent.
