Kennedy Center Honors Five This Weekend

This first weekend of December will see awards presented to five new Kennedy Center honorees, including giants in the fields of music, acting and directing. The honorees include rock legend Bruce Springsteen, jazz great Dave Brubeck, opera star Grace Bumbry, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro and acclaimed film director, actor and comedian Mel Brooks. All five were born in the U.S. and have had long careers. The awards will be given out at a State Department dinner this Saturday, December 5th. A two-hour tribute will take place at the Kennedy Center on Sunday, December 6th. That tribute will be broadcast on CBS-TV December 29th.
