"Blind Side" Tackles "Twilight" Sequel At Box Office

The Sandra Bullock football drama "The Blind Side" scored the top spot at this weekend's box office. In a rare move, "Blind Side" surged past former box office champ "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" in its third week of release. The Bullock film brought in 20-point-four-million-dollars, knocking "New Moon" down to second place. The vampire romance starring Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner did pull in another 15-point-seven million, pushing its total sales to over 255-million dollars. Coming in third was the debut of the Jake Gyllenhaal-Tobey Maguire drama "Brothers" with nine-point-seven million dollars in receipts. Barely making the top ten was "Everybody's Fine," the Robert DeNiro drama about a widower trying to connect with his adult children. That Miramax release took in four-million in its debut weekend.

Here is the list of the top ten box office draws in North America for the three-day weekend beginning December 4th:

1. The Blind Side - 20-point-four-million dollars
2. The Twilight Saga: New Moon - 15-point-seven-million dollars
3. Brothers - nine-point-seven-million dollars
4. Disney's A Christmas Carol - seven-point-five-million dollars
5. Old Dogs - six-point-nine-million dollars
6. Armored - six-point-six-million dollars
7. 2012 - six-point-six-milion dollars
8. Ninja Assassin - five-million dollars
9. Planet 51 - four-point-three million dollars
10. Everybody's Fine - four-million dollars
