Alaskan Man Gets DUI On Forklift
A resident of Fairbanks, Alaska will probably want to call for a tow truck the next time his vehicle gets stuck in the snow. The "Daily News-Miner" reports that David Samuel Stepp received a driving under the influence charge while operating a forklift. The 20-year-old and his friend were driving Thursday evening when the truck they were in went off the road. Stepp got his own truck to try and free his friend's ride, but wound up getting his truck stuck in the snow as well. Needing to free two vehicles from the snow, Stepp walked to his work and grabbed a forklift. When police arrived both trucks were still in the ditch and Stepp's blood-alcohol-content was above the legal limit of point-zero-eight. Stepp pleaded no contest in court last Friday and was ordered to spend three days in jail and pay a 15-hundred-dollar fine.
