Aspiring Comic Drives 1,700 Miles A Week To Attend Improv Class
Here's a case of extreme dedication to a showbiz dream. Thomas Crane, an unemployed 24-year-old from Blanchard, Oklahoma travels 17-hundred miles every week to attend improv classes at iO Chicago. Crane - who wants to make it big in comedy - got the idea to hit the road after watching a TV report about the late Chris Farley. The famed "Tommy Boy" star also studied at iO, so Crane wanted to go there, too. The "Chicago Tribune" says Crane attends a three-hour class at the Chicago school on Fridays. To get there, he starts driving on Thursdays. As soon as class ends, it's back home for the 840-mile commute back to Blanchard. Crane admits the situation is, quote, "insane."
