High School Student Suspended Over Rosary Beads

A high school student in Illinois was recently suspended for expressing his religious beliefs in class. KSDK.com is reporting that Rodrigo Avila was suspended for five days for wearing rosary beads to Collinsville High School. Avila says he's proud to wear his rosary, but explains that the school took issue because they thought it was "gang affiliated." Avila says he could be kicked out of school if he wears his rosary beads again, adding, quote, "I just want to wear my rosary in school without anyone saying anything."
