MAJORITY BELIEVE PACKERS WILL TAKE SUPER BOWL 45
Who's your pick for Super Bowl 45? The majority of those taking part in a series of ESPN.com "SportsNation" polls are giving the edge to the Green Bay Packers. Nearly 60-percent think Aaron Rodgers will lead his team to victory, while 42-percent think the Pittsburgh Steelers will win. Most are also voicing a preference for Rodgers as a quarterback. Three out of five say they like him as a starter, while 40-percent feel stronger about the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger. When it comes to the match-up, 81-percent believe the Packers have a stronger offense than the Steelers, but 71-percent give Pittsburgh the edge on defense. Super Bowl 45 will take place at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday, and air on Fox.
SUPER BOWL SNACKS
If you're hosting a Super Bowl party, you better have some wings. Chicken wings are leading the list of snacks for the big game in a FoodNetwork.com poll, with 31-percent saying the appetizer, quote, "will score a touchdown" at their Super Bowl bash. Eleven-percent say they'll wow their crowd with their selection of dips, and ten-percent are expecting to win fans with their nachos. Eight-percent say they whip up a mean game-day chili. Five-percent plan on serving sliders. But the option taking the largest percent of the vote is "all of the above," with 35-percent indicating any of snacks they serve will complement the big game and satisfy their guests. A new Harris poll shows that 69-percent of Americans plan to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, with 14-percent saying they'll be hosting a Super Bowl party.
MAJORITY OF SUPER BOWL WATCHERS LIKE ADS, HALFTIME SHOW
The majority of Americans will be tuning in to the Super Bowl this Sunday, and most will be watching more than just the game. Advertisers put a lot of effort -- and money -- into their Super Bowl commercials, and 89-percent of those taking part in a new Harris Poll say they enjoy seeing ads. Only eight-percent don't watch the commercials, and three-percent admit they'd rather not have any ads run during the game. In addition, 60-percent say they typically enjoy the Super Bowl halftime show, which this year will feature the Black Eyed Peas. Only 29-percent don't like the halftime show, and ten-percent call it "a distraction from the main event."
Super Bowl 45 features the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Green Bay Packers. Packers fans tend to be more dedicated to the game, while Steelers fans seem to like the total package. Two-thirds of Steelers fans are looking forward to the commercials along with the game, and 45-percent are excited about the halftime show. By comparison, just 58-percent of Packers fans are interested in the ads, and only 27-percent care about the halftime entertainment.
