Super Bowl Sunday Draws Record Audience For Fox
Fox now has bragging rights to the most-watched program in the history of U.S. television. New figures released by The Nielsen Company on Monday show a record 111 million viewers tuned in to watch the Super Bowl matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. That tops the previous viewing record of 106-point-five million set during CBS' broadcast of the championship game between the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts last year. According to Nielsen, a record 162-point-million viewers watched at least six minutes of Sunday's Super Bowl that ended in a 31-25 victory for the Packers.
