Governor Scott Walker issued a proclamation Monday declaring February is Super Bowl XLV Champions Green Bay Packers month:

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS; the City of Green Bay, Wisconsin, known as "Titletown," is the home of the 2011 NationaL Football League Super Bowl XLV Champion Green Bay Packers, and, now, again, is the home of the Vince Lombardi Championship Trophy, named for the legendary Packers coach; and

WHEREAS; millions of Packer fans around the world were cheering their team on to victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers, in Texas, by a score of 31 to 25 on Super Bowl Sunday, February 6, 2011; and

WHEREAS; Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the Super Bowl XLV Most Valuable Player by passing for more than 280 yards, and connecting on 3 touchdown passes; and

WHEREAS; the Green Bay Packers will hold a "Return to Titletown" celebration from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Lambeau Field.; and

WHEREAS; the Green Bay Packers have now won 13 world championships (including 4 Super Bowls), more than any other team in the National Football League, and remain the only team to win three consecutive titles (twice), and have placed 21 individuals in the NFL Hall of Fame, and by their outstanding effort this season, under the leadership of team President Mark Murphy, General Manager Ted Thompson and Head Coach Mike McCarthy, overcame injuries to key players and having to play all their playoff games on-the-road as a wildcard entry;"

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Scott Walker, Governor of the State of Wisconsin,
do hereby proclaim February 2011 as

SUPER BOWL XLV CHAMPION
GREEN BAY PACKERS MONTH

throughout the State of Wisconsin. I congratulate their unprecedented success, and I enthusiastically commence this observance to all citizens.
