Toby Keith Discusses Returning To Grand Ole Opry

(Nashville, TN) -- Toby Keith has his second career appearance on the Grand Ole Opry under his belt. The Oklahoma-based country star made his return to the show Saturday night, marking his first time on the Opry since his December 2002 debut. Toby says he has a great deal of love and respect for the Opry, and promises he won't let so much time pass before he's back on the show again. Toby says his Opry return stemmed in part from discussions he's had over the past year with Trace Adkins, who introduced Toby Saturday night. Adkins served as host for the segment, which also included the Grand Ole Opry debut of Carter's Chord -- a band on Toby's Show Dog-Universal label. Adkins also performed. His set included a salute to the late Opry great Charlie Louvin. Trace says he's glad Toby was on the show that featured the Louvin tribute, because it illustrated what he had told Toby about the Opry's history and traditions.
