Sara Evans says she's enjoying being married to a local football hero. The singer's husband, Jay Barker, was a star quarterback for the University of Alabama in the early 1990s and spent several years playing professional football before launching a career as a radio broadcaster. Evans tells TheBoot.com, quote, "Jay does a sports talk show in Birmingham, and the fight between Auburn and Alabama -- it's the same as arguing religion or politics. People get so heated about it. They're so passionate, and I think that's awesome." She notes that she's become a college football fan -- and roots for the Crimson Tide -- adding, quote, "There really is no place like an Alabama football game in Tuscaloosa. The fans are just crazy wild."
But while she supports her husband, Evans is also once again turning her attention to her music career. Her new album, "Stronger," which features the single "A Little Bit Stronger," will be in stores on March 8th. "Stronger" is Evans' first collection of new studio material since 2005's "Real Fine Place."
