Last Member Of "Ozzie And Harriet" Clan Dies

Actor David Nelson, the brother of late singer and actor Ricky Nelson, has died. "The Hollywood Reporter" quotes a family spokesman who said Nelson died at his home in Century City, California on Tuesday from complications related to colon cancer. He was 74. David was the older brother of teen idol and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Ricky Nelson who died in a plane crash in 1985. He was also the last surviving cast member of the longrunning sitcom "The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet," which also featured the brothers' real-life parents. Nelson directed several episodes of the popular show, which often featured story lines taken directly from the Nelsons' own lives.

When "Ozzie And Harriet" ended, David continued his acting career. His film credits include "Peyton Place," "The Big Circus," "Love Kisses," and "Smash-Up On Interstate 5," which also featured his mother, Harriet Nelson. He is survived by his wife Yvonne, four sons, a daughter, and seven grandchildren.
