Charlie Sheen Enters Rehab, CBS Sitcom Goes On Hiatus

Production on CBS' "Two and a Half Men" is on hold as the show's Charlie Sheen seeks treatment in rehab. A rep for Sheen announced on Friday that the actor had "voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center." The move came just one day after Sheen was hospitalized following reports of a 36-hour party bender at his home. The 45-year-old actor was rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital with severe stomach pain on Thursday. His publicist, Stan Rosenfield, said Sheen was being treated for a hernia. The actor was supposed to report back to the set of his CBS sitcom tomorrow, but the network issued a statement saying production on "Two and a Half Men" was on hold, adding that it supported Sheen's decision.

Sheen's hospitalization last Thursday marked the second time in recent months that the actor had been rushed to a medical facility, and the latest in string of headline-making reports over the past year. He was hospitalized in New York last October after he was found in a trashed hotel suite in the company of an adult film actress. Charlie's rep told reporters at the time that he had suffered a bad allergic reaction to an unspecified medication. Sheen was also sentenced to 30 days in drug and alcohol rehab and three months probation last summer after pleading guilty to assaulting his third wife, Brooke Mueller, on Christmas Day 2009.
