Woman Fights Off Purse Snatcher

(Mineola, NY) -- A New York man picked the wrong woman to rob when she fought back and didn't let him take her purse. Police say the 32-year-old woman had her purse snatched this past Tuesday night while she was waiting at a train station in Mineola. They say a Hispanic man swiped her purse as she sat on a bench but she took off after the thief and he threw her to the ground. She had some scrapes and bruises but was determined. The woman kept on going until she cornered the man in an alley and he wiggled out of his jacket but left the purse behind as he fled the scene. The woman did not require medical attention.
