Vince Gill says he always enjoys his Christmas tours with wife Amy Grant. The singer tells "Country Weekly" the trek takes him back to the of taping his 1993 TV special "Christmas with Vince Gill," which was when he first met Grant. He also notes that Amy, quote, "just adores this music," and admits that for him it's more about the memories. He explains, quote, "She's far more steeped in it and loving of it and knowing it -- all that stuff -- than I am. I like it, but I'd rather be playing really loud." Gill adds, quote, "It's fun. At the end of the year I get to go out and be a crooner and sing these beautiful songs with these great melodies, and I really like the majority of the great classics. People like the familiarity of it and it's got a bit of reverence to it." While their shows feature many songs of the season, Gill says they aren't, quote, "Christmas, Christmas, Christmas," but also include "a few things in there that are just sentimental and pretty."
Grant and Gill will be wrapping up their "12 Days of Christmas" tour with a pair of concerts at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on December 21st and 22nd. The country stars will be in North Carolina this weekend, making stops in Fayetteville on Friday, Greensboro on Saturday, and Concord on Sunday. They'll also play a show in Atlanta on December 20th.
