"VH1 Divas Salute The Troops" Set For This Weekend

This weekend's "VH1 Divas" special will have a patriotic twist. "VH1 Divas Salute The Troops" will premiere this Sunday, December 5th with performers Katy Perry, Sugarland, Paramore, Keri Hilson and Nicki Minaj. Most of performances will take place in front of thousands of U.S. soldiers at the Marine Corps Air Station, or MCAS, Miramar in San Diego, California. Paramore will visit soldiers at an undisclosed military base in the Middle East. The pop, rock, and country stars join in the USO tradition made famous by entertainment legends from Bob Hope to Kid Rock.

The VH1 "Divas" show premiered in 1998 to showcase powerful female vocalists. This year's lineup also includes a "few good men," like Sugarland's Kristian Bush and the men in the group Paramore, fronted by singer Hayley Williams. "VH1 Divas Salute The Troops" premieres on the network on Sunday, December 5th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
